Assisted Living Communities Deploy Robots to Help Residents

Assisted living communities are introducing robots like Temi, a machine deployed at Maplewood Senior Living in New York's tristate area, to aid residents, reports Fox 5 NY . Maplewood's residents employ Temi for tasks that include package delivery and chatting with family members. The robot's creator, Gal Goren, says Temi was engineered for seniors, but is also easy to customize, with a smart assistant feature that includes built-in Alexa. The Maplewood deployment was already in the planning stages when the coronavirus pandemic struck, forcing the cancellation of group activities and isolation measures. This galvanized the community to finally install Temi.
